Kannadada Chiguru Lokaarpana {ಕನ್ನಡದ ಚಿಗುರು ಲೋಕಾರ್ಪಣ}

Introduction

Today we are going to start this blog to Learn how to Read,Write & Speak Kannada.  Before we start, I want to give you some basic information about the language.

Kannada is a south Indian language spoken in Karnataka state of India. Kannada originated from the Dravidian Language. Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam are the other South Indian Languages originated from Dravidian Language. Kannada and Telugu have almost the same script. The oldest Kannada inscription was discovered at the small community of Halmidi and dates to about 450 CE. The Kannada script evolved from southern varieties of the Ashokan Brahmi script. The Kannada script is closely related to the Telugu script; both emerged from an Old Kannarese (Karnataka) script. Three historical stages are recognised: Old Kannada, Middle Kannada and Modern Kannada.

We will daily learn something about Karnataka and it’s Language……Let’s Start

Homing to one of the largest statues of Hindu deity Ganesha, Kadalekalu Ganesha temple is the famous holy shrine of South India. It is situated on the slopes of well-known Hemakuta Hills, and its towering statue is about 4.6 meters high.

The temple features a statue carved out from a single massive stone, and the belly of Lord Ganesha resembles a Bengal gram. Entire hall of the temple homes to slender granite pillars and exhibit fictitious characters. The carvings of these pillars reflect the Vijayanagara architectural style of art.
